Biomethane Injection Project, TRIFYL, France

Company: Clarke Energy

Country: France

Words from the finalist…

Clarke Energy successfully delivered an advanced biogas treatment plant for Urbaser Environnement SAS in Tarn, France, operated by TRIFYL. The facility converts 1,850 Nm³/h of biogas into renewable energy, with 1,000 Nm³/h upgraded to high-purity biomethane (>97% CH₄) for injection into the Terega gas network. Utilising innovative technology from Tecno Project Industriale, including Evonik membrane separation, the plant produces 95 GWh of renewable energy annually, reduces landfill waste, and significantly lowers greenhouse gas emissions. As the second-largest project of its kind in the region, it sets a benchmark for waste recovery and renewable energy production, supporting France’s energy transition goals and contributing to a more sustainable and resource-efficient energy system.
