The upgraded Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and Biogas plant at Hain Celestial’s Histon facility is a highly efficient, compact solution that delivers exceptional performance. This plant is uniquely designed to treat 120% of the site’s liquid waste volume, significantly surpassing its original capacity. Its state-of-the-art Paques BIOPAQ® ICX Anaerobic Reactor filled with high-performance granular biomass, coupled with a new control system, enables consistent COD removal of 90%, exceeding the target of 80%. The inclusion of a biogas buffer bag allows more efficient and continuous running of the CHP system which used to start and stop frequently.
