Bio: Alan Midwinter is a degree qualified senior engineer who has worked within the UK gas industry for over 40 years. Over this time Alan has gained extensive knowledge of gas network design and operations and since 2009 has been at the forefront of biomethane development in the UK. Alan is considered one of the country’s leading biomethane experts, leading many award-winning projects within the sector. A former recipient of IGEM’s Gas Industry’s Engineer of the Year and member of the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET), Alan sits as a panel member on the Biomethane European Gas Research Group (GERG), Energy Network Association (ENA) Biomethane technical working group and the Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Association’s (ADBA) advisory board.
