Bio: Des Godson is founder of Oscar Energy Holdings which he used to acquire Asia Biogas in 2013. Since then he has transformed it into one of Southeast Asia’s leading biogas developers, securing the region’s first non-recourse biogas project financing. Asia Biogas designs builds and operates biogas projects and since 2020 when it took over management of AT Biopower, it has also been active in the biomass power sector. As co-founder of SC Oscar Fund Management, Des has been involved in broader Asia Pacific renewable investments, in particular solar, biomass and biogas opportunities in New Zealand. Des currently supports the Asian Development Bank’s Transkarachi Biomethane Project in Pakistan. His 20+ years in the sector span project development, operations, M&A, and carbon markets across Asia Pacific and Europe.
