On our small blue-green planet called Earth, human progress has brought comfort and economic growth, which resulted in excessive resource extraction and generation of enormous waste. Over time, untreated industrial and organic waste has created pollution creating serious environmental, public health, and energy challenges. Addressing this growing crisis required solutions that work with nature rather than against it.

Dr. Vanita Prasad embraced this vision early in her career. During her PhD journey in 90’s, while initially working in biomedical research, she closely observed strong interconnection between environmental degradation, inadequate sanitation and human health. She recognized that ineffective waste management lay at the root of many environmental and health problems. This realization motivated her to shift her academic and professional focus toward environmental biotechnology and sustainable waste treatment.

During her professional career, she designed and operated > 200 wastewater treatment units based on high-rate anaerobic digestion. While operating these plants, she identified critical operational and biological challenges that limited long-term performance. To overcome these systemic gaps, she chose the path of entrepreneurship.

In 2017, she founded REVY Environmental Solutions with the objective of strengthening India’s anaerobic digestion and biogas ecosystem through indigenous, science-driven innovation. After years of intensive research, she introduced an award-winning, IP-protected microbial consortia having 650 naturally isolated microbes, enriched methanogens, also specialized nutrient formulations for microbial growth. And R-EMAPP, a real-time digital application for monitoring microbial health to achieve maximum efficiency.

Till now her innovative product deployments, revived > 25 anaerobic reactors across industrial, municipal, And agricultural sectors. This enabled the treatment of over 95,172 megalitres of wastewater, 428,572 tonnes of organic waste, resulting in greenhouse gas mitigation exceeding 3,675 MT of CO₂ equivalent. REVY’s solutions convert waste into reusable water, nutrient-rich digestate, and biogas for clean energy, reinforcing circular economy principles and advancing sustainable environmental stewardship at scale.
