GAIL’s has recently commissioned CBG Plant at Ranchi, India ; this plant is designed to convert organic fraction of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) into CBG, having feedstock processing capacity of 150 TPD and production capacity of 5 Tonnes Per Day (TPD), with a total investment of INR 260 Million (~ USD 3.1 Million). The CBG Plant represents a significant step forward in addressing waste management challenges and initiative towards sustainable fuels and Decarbonization. This will go a long way in contributing towards the nation’s energy security and reducing import dependence. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 2nd Oct 2024 inaugurated this CBG plant to mark Swachh Bharat Diwas, 2024.
This 12,500 m³ per day capacity (of Raw Bio-gas) plant is designed to process 150 tonnes of Municipal Solid Waste to produce 5,000 kg Bio-CNG and 25 tons of fermented bio manure per day.
