Words from the finalist…
The LR Energy 5 TPD CBG Karnal plant, led by Mr. GS Barara, is a pioneering achievement in India’s anaerobic digestion and compressed biogas (CBG) sector. This sustainable facility embodies circular economy principles and zero-waste objectives, serving as one of the region’s first projects built entirely by an in-house team. The plant processes pressmud, poultry and corn-based industrial by-products, converting it into CBG and organic fertilizers, thus reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Its operations align with UN Sustainable Development Goals, such as climate action (SDG 13) and responsible consumption (SDG 12). Incorporating advanced technologies like double-membrane biogas storage, proprietary VPSA for methane recovery, and energy-efficient agitators, the plant minimizes energy consumption while enhancing biogas quality. With a focus on employment generation, it provides rural job opportunities through semi-automation. By selling organic manure to local farmers, the plant supports soil health and crop productivity, fostering a circular economy. The success of the Karnal plant has positioned LR Energy as a leader in India’s renewable energy sector, setting a precedent for future CBG projects. This model reduces carbon emissions, promotes innovation, and strengthens environmental stewardship, exemplifying industry success and sustainable development.
