ELOVAC® is a compact vacuum degassing system designed to recover residual biogas and nutrients from digested sludge before it is dewatered, addressing one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions in anaerobic digestion. After anaerobic digestion, significant amounts of methane and carbon dioxide remain dissolved in sludge and are normally released to the atmosphere during storage, pumping and dewatering. ELOVAC® applies controlled vacuum degassing to strip these gases from the sludge at source. The recovered biogas is returned to the sites gas system for energy generation, while emissions of fugitive methane are dramatically reduced.
